Just curious, does reading my comic make you want to seek out and purchase old LEGO Space sets? :-) Have you bought any classic LEGO sets lately?

Yes - I want to get out my old Lego sets and rebuild them. In fact, I have been doing just that. Your comic is very inspiring. :)

Hey longtime lurker - to answer your question, yes, totally! Discovered this comic during the longtime hiatus, read it from start to abrupt finish during that time... this took place as I was making an exit from my "dark age," as it were! Was a HUGE space fan as a kid, and here this comic was inspiring me to re-buy old space sets that have been lost since childhood. Incidentally, I bought a new Star Hawk (which I had in the 90's, along with the Unitron base - the latter's surviving parts have since gone into custom creations) as soon as this arc began, but before the ship actually appeared in the comic. Other sets the comic inspired me to pick up in particular were Galanos's Aero Module when I saw it for cheap, and the Alien Moon Stalker - the latter has got to be my favorite of the original Classic Space sets. Speaking of which, any plans for "kitty" to reappear? ;) Still quite surreal and awesome that Space the Comic has returned. And now, I return to lurking.~ *poof!*

I think that's so awesome that the comic helped you rediscover your love of Classic LEGO Space, even if you started reading during the long hiatus. Almost all collectors I know went through that "dark age." For me, Unitron was actually when I came out of it. And I can't tell you how glad it makes me to hear you call it "Galanos'" Aero-Module. It reminds me of a couple of YouTube reviews I've seen of the Gamma-V Laser Craft, and someone in the comments inevitably says, "Commander Schwartz's ship!" (Probably to the confusion of the reviewer and most viewers). It's cool to be associated with certain sets in a small way. I definitely will feature the Alien Moon Stalker "Kitty" again. It's also one of my favorites, and a set I have clear memories of from childhood. (A friend had it, and kept it displayed on his bookshelf.) Thanks for de-lurking!

It's truly surreal to me, too, to be back doing this. But it's been almost a year now and I've mostly found a balance where it's fun to work on the comic and isn't overwhelming. I started it up again for a few reasons. The saddest was that my cat got sick and died; I honestly loved this little creature like a child, and her early death crushed me. I think getting back into the comic was therapeutic. I also hit a wall creatively in writing short stories, after not being able to write at all for awhile due to grief. I just couldn't seem to get the stories right, so I went back to comics. They may not be perfect, but I feel at home creating them. I am getting back into writing prose stories again now, and I did adopt another cat (even though she has health issues, too, just not quite as serious). Wow, that was a personal info dump. Sorry. lol
