Hmmm...a few pages ago, the flask with part of that hand they'd retrieved, blew up in his hands, bits penetrated his body, including the heart, where they would presumably be trying to take hold, as in Alex's lung. Oh dear, have I failed completely in my narrative !? (Holds head in hands) B-)
