Thing is that I can't place Lan's expression in that panel, or place exactly why he's here unless someone asked or Lan was one of the ones attempting to break the barrier, he's likely to deliver good news to the McAndrews, I doubt he doesn't know about the kit and cub his daughter is nursing, plus he could locate relics (with power) more easily being who he is...

Knowing Robert, he will only kill her if she acts as she did a year ago, that Cory is dieing he's using this as a tool to kill the rest of what she used to be, he saw the change start, she knows she can't run from Robert forever, she is going to have to fight, or have minions fight for her... If its the later she is doomed but if she chooses to fight, Robert may just call off the blood feud
