That nebulae's time effect is from Xade. In this version of Xade the Protector of Xade sent the system of Questa backwards through time to protect it from the Tarrons; a vicious alien species that wanted Xade for itself. It has a unique time bending effect. Alexis did not send her two years ahead but instead she sent Wayward Wings two years into Xade's past as she led them through the system. However, she is forgetful and forgot to ensure it was safe for them, which is why they were right on top of that thing instead of a little beyond it in the timeline.

I am guessing either High Elves or Dwarves have the longest natural lifespans of the pink skinned Terran races, followed by Halflings and Centaurs, then Common and wood Elves whom I recon to have about the same average lifespans provided they are equally healthy, then I suspect the Gnomes having even shorter lifecycles- otherwise there wouldn't be so many, thanks to their curse and people trying to defend themselves from them leading to a high death rate. Also remember- high magic concentration means longer lives- assuming the beings are acclimated to it, I don't know where Merefolk, the winged rats who think they're holy or the races whom aren't based on humans would lie, other than dragons living the longest, and Pooka who don't have the long life bug living less than 20 years, but that's harder to say because of elves doing what they can to worsen the living confitions of the furred races, merefolk having significantly more living space, and most races being more secretive.

@hkmaly Halflings have long life spans, it is likely one of the varieties of Terran elves have the shortest average lifespan for bare skin beings on Terra- at least for those that more closely resemble humans, after all they seem to make up a majority or near majority of Terra's populous, which is usually indicative of a shorter life cycle, even in human societies, when a lower percentage of a regions population are expected to live to adulthood- or otherwise there being a reduced chance of further reproduction, typically more children are had to ensure they can continue to contribute to the gene pool.
