@ mhalpern: My suspicion on how the "Cat Logic" works is this. First, people who haven't been around for a while are strangers, treat them as such. Second, people who willingly submit are unimportant, so you should ignore them. Third, infighting's fine, so long as it doesn't result in anything serious. If it results in something serious, it's something to crush. Fourth, those who do you favors, particularly when they don't need to, are great friends, treat them well. Of course, this is only how the Cat Logic on this page works, not all of Cat Logic.

That, or its a bid for temporary dominance, in other words, it was the shortest catfight ever. My guess is that they respect anything non-lethal when it comes to impromptu duels of the feline variety. Hopefully there's plenty of untainted trees too, otherwise Forest Home island is going to need a new infrastructure that isn't reliant on wood, they probably have enough for structural use, but they can't be using it for fuel much anymore.
