I have made a time-compressed youtube video of this page being created from start to finish. The narration describes the techniques and thought process behind the drawing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s33S9fbYgNk
I now have an instagram account, where I put various bits of webcomic related art: Mindfold concept art, works in progress, fan art, etc. https://www.instagram.com/mindfold_comic/
Since I was away for awhile, I just got caught up. Beautiful and provoking art as always!
But I wanted to give a special shout-out to the linked youtube video. That was very fascinating to watch. You know, when it comes to really skilled illustrators and designers, its often hard to separate process from product, and watching you go through the process of laying out the page and narrate the how's and why's of what you were doing was extremely informative and illuminating in regards to what the finished product stands as. I was particularly surprised to find that you work on a much larger canvas, which you then cut down for separate updating. That's the kind of cool, behind-the-scenes shit I love discovering about artists. Always a lot of fun to see how the creative sausage is made. Very much appreciate you pulling back the curtain.
I format my pages to fit into the proportions of a printed comic book, but I cut the pages into two halves for two reasons: 1) most people read webcomics on a computer monitor, which is horizontal, and I hate scrolling when I am reading a comic 2)If I uploaded the complete page at once, I would only be updating about once every three weeks. Stretching the story out that thin makes it very hard to remember what happened in the previous update.
He is a sorceror assigned to guard her so that he could use his magic to counter any spells she might have thrown, but he also has some offensive tricks to use in case a physical fight breaks out.

It seems those cat-folk aren't interested in playing fair. They are only interested in winning!

I hope she can catch the knife with her teeth! LOL JK, it looks like he enchanted the knife before throwing it, yikes! o.o

My bet Darra will catch the dagger with her bare hands!
AmeliaP at 11:16AM, Feb. 26, 2018
That's true! I forgot they use magic for everything. Those tricksters!
fallopiancrusader at 12:33PM, Feb. 19, 2018
Let's hope it's not a dagger with some sort of magical effects!

Darra's new hosts will only tolerate a limited amount of misbehavior.

Seems a bit much. Dude, you probably could've just showed her the knife and told her to stop kicking people and it'd all be chill!

Seeing his boss's boss getting kicked in the face got him a little over-excited. :O

He can summon weapons? Time to rethink your combat style.

Let's hope he doesn't have a limitless supply of those!
