Ah, a seance. But, in Japan, communing with spirits is a risky business, especially if you've never done it before. For example, there's a fox spirit called Kokkuri that is often invoked in a party game-like seance, but if you don't perform it EXACTLY right, Kokkuri is supposed to curse you so that you'll die. If you try to leave before the seance is complete, you get cursed. If you try to end the seance before asking Kokkuri to leave, you'll get cursed. If, after you complete the seance, you do not rip up the paper you used, break the pencil you used to write the characters on said paper, and you don't spend the 10 yen coin you used during the ritual, you'll get cursed. Kokkuri is one mean and persnickety omniscient spirit.

Hmm, Seances normally only summon the evil ghosts, so its not a really good idea normally, but perhaps a good ghost with enough will power might get through.
