From The Archives… I

The silly Flash animation that started it all.

This was before I knew how to make a play button, so if you missed the first few seconds, just know that they don't really matter at all. Also, if you have speakers or headphones, there is sound.

I can't remember when, exactly, this Flash anim was made. Counting back, it was possibly around eight years ago.

It all began back in my high school years, when the word “bizatch” was temporarily gaining popularity among the social elite. I figured I'd stay a step ahead, and try to ride the wave of linguistic popularity by coining the term “shizatch.”

I had just acquired Macromedia Flash, and wanted to try my hand at animation. So I made a movie. A movie about a Silver Ninja, who destroyed a small army of blue ninjas with ease and class. I didn't put much effort into the art. Or the animation. Or the entire thing. I figured it would just be something to show my friends for laughs.

When I clicked “save” and was prompted to insert a filename, I thought to myself, “it's just some ninja shizatch.” And so it was.

As time went by, I lost the original file to the horrid computer virus that plagued thousands - nay, millions - at the time; Windows ME. But I got right back on the horse and recreated that first episode, ensuring that I put just as little effort into it as I did the first time around.

So here it is. The true origin of Ninja Shizatch. Back when Silver was still a ninja. And competent. And was not being played by a nocturnal elf.

Ah, nostalgia, thy name is shizatch…
