Learning any new instrument can be challenging, especially if you have no music background. I've always had an admiration with music & lyrics. I was in choir for 3 years and my first boyfriend was in the marching band and also a drummer who was my introduction to some fundamentals of basic music-making. There were many times when he would teach me about percussion and bass.
I've always thought art, music, science, mathematics tie so much into each other they become one at the root.
That was all ‘pretty art fluff’, but the hardcore statement of the day is: Trying to learn how to play the piano means getting my ass kicked by the keys.

I started teaching myself to play Piano (well, Keyboard, but almost the same thing) a couple years ago. Three months into it, my brother ask me to join his bar band. They were such good musicians and I... Well, the Blacks and Whites were kicking my ass too haha. I'm sticking with it, and it's been so rewarding. I've gotten alot better but still have a looooooong ways to go. Keep at it - you won't regret it.
