Wow, this is really difficult. My process is to take a digital photograph of a drawing I do in my sketch book. Then I upload it to the computer, put it into flash, go over the outer lines, copy and paste those lines into a new page, then add detail, then add color.
This is tiring. I might go back to just sticking doing it totally digitally. Less time and it seems to look better!

I like the design of your main character, (I'm guessing that because of your avatar) he reminds me of someone I went to school with. If you have a scanner, it might be easier to ink your sketches, then you should have a neat b&w image to work with.
