By now I was starting to get into the swing of things. I’ve got a nice palette here with my computer colouring. The green desert has switched to yellow, but it looks MUCH better this way. I was making good use of gradients!
This page is another example of bad inking on the wrong kind of paper, ruining good pencil work.
I knew nothing about the internals of motorbikes, so I had to do a lot of sketches and research until I could draw a decently convincing cycle without references from any angle… That was just the start of a very long road. The amount of research I do in order to know how to draw things is phenomenal.
A note:
I've decided to upload one page a day until I catch up with the main site. Just because I like to write about these pages and it's really hard to do that when I upload 10 at a go, (which I hate doing). Meanwhile, if you want to see the latest, just click the “Main site†link.

You'd think you been drawin' bikes your whole life. This is one of the most visually stunning comic books I have ever seen and trust me, I've seen a lot of comics in my day.

Yeah, I'm still working to hammer my sequential art plan into something presentable but in the meantime I've finally had to come to grips with some sense of reality where my art is concerned. I have a realistic style, which goes hand-in-hand with meticulously rendered backgrounds and props, but I don't want to invest that sort of time and effort -- hence my world environment looks a bit strange. I've got real looking characters interacting in a minimalist environment with only vaguely correct props . . . and so it goes. Now to the important bit, your work. Well . . . it's great, even at this beginning stage. Naturally I've seen that your latter work is awesome in style, details, and rendering. I'm going to take my time with this work though, read it from beginning to end. I want to enjoy the process of all those artistic changes as the stories progress.
