Bloody bowels

More stinky, greasy, bloody, rusty passages. This is just a short trip through some of the bloody bowels of the Buccaneer. Soon Pinky will be out of this makeshift morgue.

Commentary:
Finally, a two panel strip! Some more dead bodies here, but this time they’re a bit better covered. Drawing dead people isn’t really that fun, I prefer not to do research for that kind of thing. I rely on memories of news footage, war documentaries and war footage, (not movies, movies are too full of crap), the rest I just make up (like they do in the movies ^^).

I like the angles here. That stairway was easier to do than you might think. I promised an explanation of how I did it the first time I posted this and never delivered… So here’s a quick one:
*First I did a few sketchy lines in grey for the diamond grip-plate, and then I used white to highlight to the tops. When the pattern looked good, I copied and pasted it until I had a whole stair shaped rectangle full of it! After that I just used the straight line tools to rule up a stairway seen from above in perspective and pasted in all the grip-plate stair tops in the right places! (Scaling them to the right sizes)
*The banister rails had a three colour gradient over them to give them a cylindrical look, (grey, white, grey). I just applied that to a vertical shape and then stretched, distorted and rotated it into shape and place. I used the same initial gradient shape to build the ladder too. Then it was all flattened and set to “Multiply”.
*Colour was even easier: Each panel had a simple two colour gradient applied to the whole thing. The brass rails and ladder were just selected and coloured flat yellow, (the grey gradient over the top makes them cylindrical). The background colour details were just added in very rough painterly splodges, but the textures make them look a lot better than they are. ^_^
