Page description: This is the big exhibition they've been working towards. The trompers are finally working and everyone can see :)
Commentary: This didn't take too long to draw but I was SO SLOW to colour it on my tablet. In the future I think I'll go back to using my Cintiq for that stuff.
It's really not a good idea to try and tell a story this slowly. It just takes too long to even remember what story I was trying to tell XD
Oh look it's the Ratte, or as the air force likes to call it, large slow moving target. The Russians had a lot of heavy tank designs that were huge with multi turrets, but none had a turret from a battlecruiser as main armament.
The reason planes were so good against trains would be because a trainline is very easy to follow from the air and destroy, and trains can't do anything but go on that easy to follow route. Hahaha! But with big things in general planes still weren't great. Bombers were shit against ships for example, it was the torpedos that did all the damage. Precision bombing just didn't exist. Even against buildings thousands had to be dropped for the few that'd do the damage.
And the one with the 100 75mm doesn't look like itd carry too many rounds and does it have a magazine or does the operator have to load by hand? A magazine would really limit the amount of rounds to how many could work. I mean it's not a turret on a ship.
Something that big all bets are off with aircraft missing it. Planes are great against trains. See the Russian KV series. The KV-1,2 And 9 saw service. There were 11 others many with multiple turrets like an armored train on the ground or the river monitors.
Though interestingly it seems that pilots (of every nation) had a massively inflated idea of how effective they were when in reality planes were awful at killing tanks, despite the mythology and the numbers the pilots reported. Only specialised tank killer planes were actually any use.
Lucky we have no air forces here 😁 though I do have to rely on to get rid of those helicopters... The Russians loved their armoured battle trains haha, this might be more like that?

I should have said the gun was 75mm rather than 100! It has a curved magazine above the gun- like a BREN gun. But 100mm means not many would fit XD

But the coolness factor is off the scale. :)
