04 - Say "Goodnight" Ari

Jillers on March 17, 2006

There's a play called “Say Goodnight Gracie” where this scene (not exactly) is from.
At least I think that's the play.
At any rate, there is a play out there where two guys, who write comedy, are living together, and one guy gets a break for them, where a famous producer (who produced All in the Family, who's name I forget now) agrees to see their stuff.
And they have an argument about soup. Similar to this, funnier, I assure you.
But, I always wanted to play the straight man, who asks “Where's the Chuky Turkey Soup?” because it's a great character. But it was a guys part, so my teacher never let me.
Dang.
So, one day this scene just popped into my head (while I was looking for turkey soup) and add-libbed a bunch of lines. I just like the “Digester of dreams” line a lot, I had to write it down somewhere.

Added my friend Ari because we lived together last year, nad would frequently ask the question “Who ate my ?” knowing full well who it was (hint, we had 4 2 other roommates, and we knew who it wasn't).

Also added her because it's hers birthday this month, and I think it's today (Friday) but I don't know… so I'm calling it a birthday present because I don't have money to buy her anything.

Sorry, sometimes I'm very long winded.

Also, if you know the name of the play, please let me know.
