Ooh, maybe SHELL left Desperado to the local authorities a bit prematurely…!
Alright, thanks for reading! SHELL will be going on a brief break. I have some work to do for the upcoming Heroes Alliance #3, and will also be coordinating Heroes Alliance #4 (script has been approved by the webcomic editors, and I'll be drawing a bigger chunk of that one than how much I usually sign up for since that one has a limited number of editor hand-picked artists for fanservice-oriented purposes). Will see you all again back here shortly, but in the meantime, please do continue to follow up on Heroes Alliance. You'll see some stuff from me there!

sean: His arms weren't chopped off. His shots blasted through parts of the bars, giving it crude, sharp edges/points, and so SHELL wedged those onto Desperado's forearms. You're right. I should've had a panel in there with a better angle to depict that.

Nice, but how exactly did his arms got chopped through by the bars? The drawings didn't seem to really grasp that for me.

This was a great arc. Really enjoyed it. Desperado is a great villain.

Methinks Desperado has not been doing his superhero homework.

I was wondering the same thing as God of War. But it does make sense for someone like Desperado not to have studied Shell, seeing as he clearly couldn't have expected to meet him. Anyway. OUCH.
fukujinzuke at 12:49AM, Sept. 6, 2010
God of War: Yes, but Desperado's not quite in tune with international superheroes. Plus, SHELL's probably not that well-known in the U.S. since his "powers" don't quite stand out in comparison to a number of U.S.-based heroes.
God of War at 12:37AM, Sept. 6, 2010
Wait, I thought SHELL's idientity is public knowledge.
