Chapter 4 - Page 09
DAJB on Dec. 19, 2007
Reminder: And, if you missed it on Tuesday, check out the BVC Scrap Book here at DD. We just posted another page from our fantasy comic The Spires, together with the relevant page of script. (Because I know you like that sort of thing!)

Loving the last three panels - really claustrophobic.

Abt: Heh - I suppose we should have expected a nihilist to admire black panels! ;-) Imagine: Thanks. And welcome to our little Shades family!
Abt_Nihil at 2:52AM, Dec. 23, 2007
You're as great on black panels as Harsho is without text (panel 5).
Imagine at 10:56AM, Dec. 22, 2007
Brilliant, just brilliant. Fave'd
DAJB at 1:14AM, Dec. 22, 2007
Space: Hah - I'd never thought of that technique as being especially DKR-inspired, but now you mention it ... Yeah, maybe that is yet another debt I owe to Mr Miller! JMT: Thanks!
spacehamster at 9:56AM, Dec. 21, 2007
Ha, way to go all Dark Knight Returns on those last three panels there. It totally works, though - good job.
jmt at 7:39PM, Dec. 20, 2007
I love the black out frames!
DAJB at 2:43PM, Dec. 20, 2007
Adam: Guilty as charged, I'm afraid! ;-) Trevor: Thanks.
Adam Black at 12:09PM, Dec. 20, 2007
Argh! Stan's still in danger! If this isn't resolved soon, I'm gonna pop. You're an evil, evil writer, man. :)

seventy2: Yes, they all do that. Similarly, the little "Latest" button at the top always takes you to the page before the last, for some reason. Use the big "Latest" button that I added instead. That should always bring you to the latest page. Alana: Yup - we must be thankful for small mercies, right?!

your main page comments button leads me to the forum.... he'll make it...he needs to....he's gotta warn the others.....*tear

Inset Panel 3, silent monologue: Whoops! Me and my butterfingers.... Great page. I'm glad Stanley's... well, "okay" would be too strong, but at least he's not dead!
DAJB at 7:09AM, Dec. 20, 2007
Tantz: I'm not sure the manual would have helped these guys much ... I very much doubt if they can read! (And, yes - whoops!) ;-) Harry/Midge/LJS: Thanks guys. And, yup - not looking good, but still ... not dead yet!
TheMidge28 at 4:45AM, Dec. 20, 2007
before they do him again? oh my. Poor Stanley.
Tantz_Aerine at 4:16AM, Dec. 20, 2007
No badguy reads the manual: Never stall for ANY reason, or the good guy wins. XD Hehehh. Good for Stanley! Also, love the 'whoops, butterfingers!' little moment there.

Yikes!

Rutger: Had to google that reference. (I've been soooo out of touch with PC games since I first bought an X-Box!) Anyway ... what a fantasic song! I'm obviously going to have to get the Orange Box pack for my 360! JNP: What? You want to see lots of blood spattering, I suppose? (Actually, so do I - it's coming!)
Rutger at 1:32AM, Dec. 20, 2007
...still alive... *Tries his best to hold back the Portal jokes*
JustNoPoint at 1:24AM, Dec. 20, 2007
You and your "leave everything to the reader's imagination" technique. Stanley needs to bring some tasers from now on.
