He kicks on Sonic Battle... as seen by the sprite. And the storyline can be confusin... just bare with me until I get more comics up.. it'll be easier to tell the story and all then.

By the way, since when does Sonic kick? He spin dashes, and later he does this attack where he practially heat-seeks an enemy. What is that he's doing in panel 3? Looks like a kick to me. Again, this is hard to follow.
