I should be back from Europe but probably so busy un-packing and all that this page was pre-loaded before I left. Gotta love buffers.
Like the previous page this one has the “by candle light” filter. They're inside a tent. And here Belinda Brandon has a love scene with Alec Guinness. Orshia and Armen are intended to be an example of a married couple and are the tie-ins to Nasnor, Arianne and Falkimir's marriage. Their relationship is what Falkimir is striving for as far as marriage goes. Also, they are co-rulers who both marched to war as opposed to hubbie off to war while wifie stays home and knits socks. Armen is twelve years older than Orshia. He was already an established noble when he was married to a girl barely into her teens (assume Orshia's first menses was age 12-3) Orshia is around the same age as Arianne with Searsha a couple of years older. Or thereabouts. All ages approximate for people without daily calendars.
Caught up again! Beautiful scene - I agree that the writing is fantastic. Visually, too, it's a nice look for the dark room and intimacy going on. Love this couple.
Great scene. The candlelight effect really enhances the tender feel of it. Of course, you always have to worry a little when you see a tender, loving couple early on in a story like this...
Lovely scene - their affections seems quite genuine! Arranged Marriages are so anti-evolution, but we humans, RL and Fantasy, often flip our finger at evolution ;) I have wondered how often arranged marriages end up being happy ones... Considering the 'happy rate' of marriages where we get to choose our on mate, probably not any worse :)
With arranged marriages everyone has something to get out of it. A reason or reasons to work to make it succeed. Kids today don't even think love is a good enough reason to stay married. Sad.
