I COULD'VE just made the portal hold perfectly still however i thought it would be more interesting if the portal was moving around, as if trying to escape the device that anchors it.
Also the little swirls in the portal are the marines teleporting.
If you've read my comic you would realize that the space marines are my minions and that they are teleporting off to invade another dimension. Seriously now, where is the pit these people crawl out of?
