Star Strip page 96

Being that there is a bit of a buffer and I have become a little self-indulgent with less content and bigger panels per page might as well start up the Friday updates again.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone for continuing to read and comment. Your comments mean a lot to me. Sadly there isn't the time to reply to them in a timely fashion. If appropriate I try to weave answers or references to the comments into the story. But recently my work load at my job has picked up and it is becoming harder to concentrate on the comic. That is where I do most of the editing and page construction. It could also be allergy season as my head feels all stuffed and I've been having a series of headaches. The cars are all yellow with the tree pollen so that could be adding to my concentration difficulties.
This is really Lon's page. After some of the reader comments about Lon I felt he deserved a page detailing his reactions to Da-tu. He has his limits. I established in Battle of the Robofemoids that Grey Guys and gals have no ability to cry. Their eyes are self lubricating but they cannot form tears. During their development as a slave race the designers realized they didn't want slaves/spare parts to express emotions with tears as it might draw empathy to their plight by the “bleeding hearts”
The tissue harvest device underwent a few changes as my original concepts just didn't work. It was originally going to be some plastic tubes I had attached with blue putty but it wouldn't lay right and it wouldn't stick. So instead I went with straight out green tentacles painted in digitally. The “sucked dry” effect is a modification of the “fried” effect from the original Attack of the Robofemoids. I had wanted to go with a withered corpse or even a skeleton but instead decided to obscure some of the detail with the burned effect. I figure that the harvesting process might generate great heat and fry and blister the skin. So much useless tissue as Da-tu would put it.
As mentioned I will try to put together a couple of pages going over how some of this stuff is put together. I may also use them for the upcoming For Your consideration DD Awards pages.

Very effective effects, agreed. My heart goes out to Lon in his sadness (even though he's only lamenting the boobs. Very Lon-like behaviour, heh heh). It's interesting how he's become the focus of the story for a lot of us! Could he end up saving the day somehow?

Poor women and poor Lon. Superb SFX on the burnt flesh. Very graphic, but you really can tell what happened to the poor victims.

Agree with Plymayer - that is quite horrifying...! Poor Lon!! This may just push him over the top!! Those green tentacle things look really cool! Depth perception for them is a little off, but they look really slick!!

In the movie adaptation I vote for Bob Grant to play the grey guy! (that is , if he wasn't dead).

A how it's done page would be fun to see.

The physical degeneration in the last panel is very graphic and disturbing. Like a 60s horror movie. Maybe a Toho Hammer joint venture. Love it!

Ah, rather, that Lon might switch sides in this conflict.
plymayer at 4:13AM, May 15, 2015
Why do I suddenly feel like Lon is a switch hitter?
