damn straight! [responding to submit] it's all about the number 2 pencils. mechs ALWAYS break on me. no matter how light.
kinda' reminds me of a Curly moment. complete with head repeated head smacks.
great strip.
AH never use those. I use like pencils that are 6H or so. That way it is really light. Then you can trace over it and erase the remaining pencil easier
I've got several Ohto Super Promecha Drafting Mechanical pencils (say that five times fast) that work really well. It's rare that the lead breaks while I'm drawing.
Yeah, I used to use those too, But naturally I press to hard so I always snap the let and leave deep groves in the paper... I stick with regular pencils now. Despite the constant need for sharpening.

Taking on the mechanical pencil companies? I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, Terra.

They are both skritchy and snappy.
man in black at 6:11PM, June 15, 2007
i don't have a problem with them breaking, but i use a lighter touch, same with sharpies so i don't flatten the tip
dantheman at 2:02PM, June 15, 2007
mechanical pencils bring me back to my elementary school days...I'm sure you cared to know that.

kawaiidaigakusei at 10:14PM, June 14, 2007
Pencils used to be my medium until I switched entirely to pens. But I really think BIC have nice mechanical pencils - especially the 0.7 leads.
