So yeah, came up with this little gem for you guys to celebrate our nation's independence ^^ (not technically the right day, but whatever X3). As you can see, our girl Evee is dressed up in a traditional colonial soldier's uniform (with a few modifications for the inevitable fanservice :3). I got the costume design from the EXTREMLY talented Comic_Chic. If you have yet to read her comic The Dreamer, YOU SHOULD READ IT NOW IT ROCKS!!! http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Dreamer/index.php?p=577691 Oddly enough, hers was the best representation of the actual uniform.
I'd also like to take this time to say this: support our troops. Even if you don't necesarily support the reason they are overseas, it boils down to the fact that they are over there for US. I have many friends in the armed forces and I dedicate this to them. We love you guys, and we are always cheering for you! God bless our troops! BRING THEM HOME! XD
Just stumbled on to your web comic. I'm normally the crime or superhero type of guy, but this strangely reminds me of my days in college. Keep up the good work.
Abt: I know! I love it X3 Also, I completely agree with you. While I can understand why many people would NOT agree with what I have stated here, I hope people understand that I am saying that I support the troops as PEOPLE. I do NOT support the war in Iraq. I never have. I knew the moment Bush made that speech after 9/11 I thought to myself "Oh god...this is gonna be another Vietnam". But I'm not against the soldiers sent there because it's there duty. As I said, I have many highschool compatriots in the armed forces that are over there right now, and I all I want is to see them safely home.
Great work on the pic, deliciously fanservice-y too.
Adding to Lem's comment: I CAN support bringing them home. I think the US and Germany have a special relationship ever since WWII, and I'm proud Germany has grown into one of their closest allies (though I don't know whether or not this is acknowledged by the American public). But I'm also proud of the fact that Germany wasn't part of the "Coalition of the Willing". I'm very glad we were NOT part of the Iraq invasion. That said, I am not against helping the US out now, under the current administration.
The first to suffer in a war are the civilians, so my first thoughts would go out to them, no matter the nationality. But the second to suffer are of course the soldiers and their families. It's just hard not to identify them with the aggressor. Still, sometimes it's a distinction worth making, what with the front lines being as vague as they are in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I watched "The Hurt Locker" last week, great movie, I highly recommend it. Not for the weak of heart though.
And look - devvo's avatar is making a statement too! :3

So, uhm, not being from the US, may I be, uhm, excluded from having to support your troops? Cool pic, anyway.
