I'm here again, with another page that… well, you know! ;)
Hayate finally ‘tastes’ Hitomi's essence which we all know isn't a tangible thing. But why his eyes turned dark?
The essence is like your trademark, Hayate (and the other vampires) use his senses to detect it and, if he likes it, he can track it anywhere. Like a personal GPS :D
Oh, also there's an important thing (at least for Hayate) that Hitomi mentions in Chapter 2, we'll se what is it in the next page so, see you on Sunday!

Hayate looks super scary but also super cool on the first panel. Nice! Also gotta respect the classic "KYAAA!" XD

Whoa he does look rather sinister (but cool) in top panel!! Of course, Hitomi seems like she's hating every bit of this!! (hope sarcasm is obvious ;))

Hahaha yeah, she looks delicious! Fortunately, with today's technology I don't have to do those crosshatching manually, I only need to create a tool for that and it's ready to use it anytime :D

I consider myself rather well-versed in Vampire Lore and that mirror tidbit was unknown to me!! So interesting!!

Common misconception that vampires have no reflection in a mirror. What it really means is that since vampires do not breathe they do not fog a mirror with their breath. The old way to tell if someone was truly dead was to put a mirror under their nose as the least bit of breath would fog it.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul. It's said that vampires has no soul, thus they can't reflect in a mirror but this is not te case. Your guess is better :D
