I asked Seor Saavedra to stop talking in such a dramatic over-the-top manner, but he pretty much does whatever he wants. Soccoro quickly agreed to honor a promise from long ago, but I wouldn't say she's happy to see Kimber Lee, and Kimber Lee is just relieved to tears that anyone is willing to help her, no matter how gruff they may be - and with this page Chapter 6 ends. Next chapter we'll experience Ranch Life for a little while - peaceful, tranquil Ranch Life, where the skies are not cloudy all day… *snicker*

Artwise, this page continues my experiments with watercolor pencils, which I do for several more pages, mixing with regular watercolor here and there.

They must have been really good friends at one time! Great artwork on this page. The details and the facial expressions come out clearer, and that goes very well together with the "camera work" here. :)

@Peipei: It wasn't exactly with open arms, but Socorro did allow Kimber Lee into her home, honoring their promise - that is something! Now it's time for hugs and friendly conversations - catching up on everything *chuckle*

@Banes: *hand you cookie* :) On the previous page I mentioned (in my page notes) that Saavedra was inspired by a particular actor -- *ding ding* Danny Trejo be da One! As for future heavy convos - oohhhh yeah they're a comin'!

I keep hearing Danny Trejo when Senor Saavedra talks. This could've been bad - it seems like Socorro has moved on and has let the past go. But there could be a pretty heavy convo in Kim's near future...

@bravo1102: I'm pleased to no end that you took the time to read this from the beginning - and back-commented on several of the older pages too! Wow! Thanks so much! I've painted lots of acryllic paintings in the past, and as long as I took my time, I could make them look pretty decent. With this webcomic, not only did I have a story to tell, but I also wanted to practice being able to do art FAST! As is obvious, my initial forays were pretty painful, and I still have a ways to go, but feel I've made significant improvement - and I get to tell a story! That's what it's all about right? Thanks again :)

And I'm up to the present! Read the whole comic and seeing the evolution of your work over time was enlightening. And this is a very good story full of WTF moments. All I can do is quote Poe "Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?"

thats amazing work. you should see what happens when I try to paint… the painting looks okay, but my house is destroyed.
