So I learned a good lesson with the previous page. The nature of webcomics (1 page every fews days or so) means that one particular page can't depend on the next page for its general text to make sense. In the previous page, Kimber Lee is thinking she needs to leave the Saavedra ranch (due to the anquish she's causing Socorro), but she wasn't planning on leaving right then, wearing only some sleeper short and tee, despite the misleading text…
.
This page makes that obvious, and if this were a graphic novel, a reader would've maybe had a second or so of eyebrow-raising before reading this page and having more clarity. But as it was, more than a few readers thought Kimber Lee was leaving, right then, right there, and looking back at it I fully understand why. Anyway I've modified the text of the previous page to better reflect she's just thinking hard about it and isn't leaving right then (she's just out for a midnight stroll).
.
For this page, Kimber Lee is doing the ‘omni-senses’ thing again. The last panel I experimented with a ‘fish eye’ camera shot to sort of display visually how Kimber Lee's senses ‘blows up’ the world. I also made the panel look like a Giant Eye (Sauron haha). She has her ‘dream eye’ on the world, or maybe it's looking back at her hehe. And sensing planes and satelites…! Yeah, even at this point Kimber Lee can still be amazed at what she can do.
.
And who is that creeping into the scene…?
.
Thanks for reading everyone :)

@Bravo1102: lol I need to read more actual comics :))

I knew it was Sorocco from the shape of the ankles. How dare you actually have someone change their mind after a snap decision! It's like a must that comic characters just up and leave with no preparation and leave everything hanging. Wolverine does it all the time.

@Peipei: hehe Indeed - Kimber Lee doesn't put up much with troublemakers these days - anyway, revealed Monday Morning!
Peipei at 2:20PM, Feb. 16, 2014
Uh oh, who is that out there in the middle of the night? Better just be taking a stroll and not looking for trouble!

@Szyszka666: Thanks! I've gotten to where I like trying to do night-sky stuff!

Really like the composition of this page. And the moon looks so realistic!

@Plymayer: Thanks! I thought it was the NAZI Moonbase she saw :) And yeah, there's just this feeling she's missing... something
plymayer at 8:32PM, Feb. 14, 2014
Hmmmm... Like Sauron, she might be able to see every thing but have a hard time seeing just one little thing....
plymayer at 8:30PM, Feb. 14, 2014
WOW. Just WOW. Beautiful page. Stuffed full of stuff. Hey, I can see Moonbase Alpha from here! Or rather she can.

@Banes: Yeah, you got it! One can have one's mind totally made up - then a bit later decide to do the complete opposite! It's called 'Being Human'. It's a frustrating aspect of our nature, but also makes us interesting. I guess I pseudo-panicked when it seemed to some that Kimber Lee was leaving; right then, right there. I was never my intention for a reader to think that, and I felt like I had robbed everyone of possibilities. But without spoiling too much, you're right that there's too much 'hanging' to leave just yet. As for your guess - revealed Monday ;)
Banes at 8:11AM, Feb. 14, 2014
...and speaking of assumptions, my guess is it's Socorro herself coming towards Kim.
Banes at 8:10AM, Feb. 14, 2014
...the thing is, people go back and forth on things. It makes perfect sense for Kim to think "I'm leaving. I'm gettin' out of here"...or for readers to assume that she's thinking that...but then change her mind. That's how people are! Honestly, if Kim were leaving the family this quickly, it would feel like a lot is being left hanging. I was kind of relieved that you said she wasn't going yet. Still, I would have been fine with having the wrong assumption and then being surprised. That's great!
Banes at 8:07AM, Feb. 14, 2014
Wow! Incredible scope of powers Kim has developed. No run of the mill superhero, she. Kim's tale is much more than that. I love the "Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily..." definitely perfect for this comic. That's a tough one, the structure of the drama/conflict in a webcomic. It's good to have a conflict on every page, but then we readers start anticipating/assuming...and this is the great fun of webcomics I think...but then you wonder if you're misleading in a bad way, or if the next move is surprising in a good way...oy...it gets complex...XD

@fallopiancrusader: Thanks! I had to look up 'dolly zoom'. After looking up, was delighted - it's an effect I've always loved but never knew what it was called. Were this scene in a movie I think a 'dolly zoom' would work well here.
KimLuster at 6:28AM, Feb. 14, 2014
@Bravo1102: hehe i'm sure he'd like to catch Kimber Lee alone in the dark...!
fallopiancrusader at 6:04AM, Feb. 14, 2014
The last panel is beautiful. Good rendition of a fisheye lens. It gives a strong impression of a dolly zoom as well.

It's that teen aged kid with the crush...
