KimLuster at 6:49AM, Jan. 2, 2015
@Barry: Hate it when it happens to me - like this New Years.... Too much Champagne Ugghhhh...
BarryCorbett at 6:36AM, Jan. 2, 2015
I hate when that happens.
KimLuster at 8:00PM, Jan. 1, 2015
@Peipei: Ha, yeah in Golden Dream Form, Kimber Lee doesn't really have any naughty bits - sorta like a doll... So all you Teens - your minds are safe and un-corrupted, your parents don't have to make you stop reading ;)
KimLuster at 7:58PM, Jan. 1, 2015
@VinoMas: That it did!!
Peipei at 7:36PM, Jan. 1, 2015
Well crap! This could be interesting! She's going to have to fight herself in a sense. And yeah, this is not full on nudity, but it's as close to the real thing as we'll get in a T rated comic I guess. ;)
VinoMas at 7:01PM, Jan. 1, 2015
Fighting Back!
KimLuster at 4:31PM, Jan. 1, 2015
@Syz: Hey it's just Barbie Nudity ;)
Szyszka666 at 9:27AM, Jan. 1, 2015
More naked Kimber! :) But I feel sorry for her actually, she has to suffer a lot :(
KimLuster at 10:53PM, Dec. 31, 2014
@plymayer: brain freeze... strain freeze :)
KimLuster at 10:53PM, Dec. 31, 2014
@Brogan: Thank You!! Whew... just got back from a New Years party ... perhaps a little tipsy :D
plymayer at 10:13PM, Dec. 31, 2014
Like an ice creem head ache only worse.
plymayer at 10:13PM, Dec. 31, 2014
Mind ouch!
brogan68 at 6:35PM, Dec. 31, 2014
Such an awesome looking page! Can't wait for the next one!
Banes at 3:16PM, Dec. 31, 2014
Aha! I had a feeling things were headed...where they're headed. XD
KimLuster at 2:52PM, Dec. 31, 2014
@Banes: Thanks so Much!! I'm pleased you're so interested in where we're going - good thing too, cuz that's where we're headed ;)
Banes at 2:34PM, Dec. 31, 2014
And I thought lifting water colors was what happened when my art supplies were getting stolen! Love the colors here. And the idea of disappearing into some abstract, mental eternity is scary (though as you said, Kim will survive this). So the entity IS seeking some connection with big Eli, eh? Once again, I can't wait to see where this goes next!
KimLuster at 9:56AM, Dec. 31, 2014
@FC: Yeah I've tried those salt tricks - just never figured how to make that sort of pattern work in this comic...! Maybe for one of my chapter headers in the future...!
KimLuster at 9:55AM, Dec. 31, 2014
@Tom: Thanks so Much :)
fallopiancrusader at 9:35AM, Dec. 31, 2014
Lifting works pretty well with traditional watercolors. If you ever experiment with Dr. Martin's dyes, you can use bleach for a similar effect. Liquid frisket can be useful if you want a really crisp line. Sprinkling salt on the wet wash provides hours of amusement as well.
Call Me Tom at 9:22AM, Dec. 31, 2014
I just love the use of colour on these last pages!
KimLuster at 9:21AM, Dec. 31, 2014
@FC: Ha, I just googled 'watercolor lifting' and people have been doing for centuries it seems... :D But I discovered it on my own!!
KimLuster at 9:06AM, Dec. 31, 2014
@FC: a neat thing I discovered (although I'm sure I didn't event the wheel here). Once a layer of watercolor is done, you can lay down water-only lines or shapes (with no pigment), let it sit for a little while, and it sorta soaks up the old pigment (and moves some to the side - see those hard lines on the edges). Then, before the water laydowns completely dry, you lift them up with a dry cloth or paper towel. That leaves white where your water laydowns were (mostly, you can see the darker areas in some that correspond where the purple was darker). You can then (carefully) fill them back in with something else... or leave them white - that's how I've produced some of my night sky star fields (just sprinkled water droplets, let them soak pigment for a bit, then lift back up) :D I will admit, though, that some of the very light areas were 'brightened' with photodraw after scanning ;)
fallopiancrusader at 8:10AM, Dec. 31, 2014
Oh, I forgot to ask: when you paint those fine golden lines over the purple background, do you mask them out with a frisket or do you go back over the purple with an opaque paint?
KimLuster at 7:30AM, Dec. 31, 2014
@bravo: She just watched Ghostbusters prior to the mind-dream-trek thing... "Are you a god?"... "Well... Yeah..." *Smack*
