A wolf pack!
And while they may present a source of concern to Kimber Lee, they present frustration to me! I'm trying to figure out the best way to do their fur without it looking like crap or taking too long. Painting LOTS of strokes takes too long and sorta ends up looking like hay instead of hair. While drawing just a flat area looks okay, I didn't really like it. So I tried a compromise (a little flat and some strokes) and it turned into a hot mess!
Anyway, these wolves are meant to be frightening, so pretend they are :) …
I am pretty happy without how my poses for Kimber Lee turned out though…
More wolves next page!
Thanks for Reading Everyone!

Got carried away. Sorry. You see, the return of the wolf in our parts is a very hot topic at the moment, fueled by way too many emotions and ideologies in some of the different camps. Those of us who actually have to bear the consequences (and that happens to include me) just hope for the hysteria to ebb away, so some decisions can be made that make sense for a change.

As bravo said, this is a great page! Fur may be one thing, but to my mind the really tricky part about drawing wolves is not making them look just like a greyish breed of shepherds, and that part turned out very well. I don't just mean the different frames or relative length of the legs; the real difference is in the eyes, their expressions and the way they behave, and all of this is just perfect. This typical way of their fixing their gazes on Kimber, gauging their chances, is very, very wolf-like indeed, as a lady who was walking her dog in my region a few weeks ago could certainly confirm now.

Still a great page. Those wolves look pretty smart too. Wolves were a real danger in Europe before the 18th century. And they have averaged a bigger size when they were still.a dominant predator. She's lucky she didn't run into.some European lions.

Too.many strokes in the medium shot, just.right in the close-up. Further and hair from a distance looks like a solid color with breaks in tones looking like patches of solid color, not strands. Heh, I just had a cat run in front of me at a distance of about 30 meters so it's fresh in my head.
