When I perused art books as a child, Liberty Leading The People was another painting that I'd stop and linger over. Long before I knew anything about the 1830 French Revolution, I knew this painting clearly depicted ‘common people’ overthrowing something oppressive! That they were lead by this magnificent bare-breasted woman…! I still love it today!

Kimberely is just as courageous and determined as the woman in the painting so I can see a strong connection there. Beautifully redone though and quite an ambitious task considering the complexity of the original poses!

@bravo: I had a professor once try to say that 'Sans Culotte' meant 'Without Hats' - Makes one wonder what else he got wrong when 'teaching' us!!! As for as the other Kimbers not listening, sometimes it's hard to make yourself get out of bed, much less make yourself go fight a cosmic event!! ;)

And in the painting bare breasted Liberty is running over a guy without pants. A literal "sans culotte" (a sort of visual pun if you know the history of the French Revolution) Yours is one Kimber trying to rally all the others. And it doesn't look like they're listening very well.
