Yeah, it does make you sound sorta like a jerk, Emilio…!
But I do have some empathy!
If anyone's ever been in a long term relationship, you likely went through a phase where one of you did something hard to forgive and was a jerk about it!! Probably not where you weren't sure your partner was even real or not, but still…
Last night I was at a music venue (with a bar and lots of consumption going on) and lots of kids were there - they're out there!!

I've been married form 9 years (10 in the next august)and it's totally hard sometimes to maintain a "nice" relationship with your couple. I mean, There's times of pure joy and happiness but also times of sadness or "grim times", and there's the problem. When those sadness arrives we don't want to work to fix it, and nobody is going to fix it for us. Great page!

Avart, I think, in these times, people are way too quick to give up!!! It's sad when I go to weddings now I find myself wondering how long the couple will last. I'm truly amazed (and pleased) when couples last 10+ years!!

Lovely page! I can totally understand how he must feel and is it really being selfish to want your kids to grow up in a consistently safe environment, I don't think so. I think of Kimberley could convince him she was normal now he would come back but I can't see that happening.

Whatever, nothing can justify being dishonest with your spouse in my opinion, even if she has crazy super powers that you can't understand! He should have just been honest from the beginning and broke things off with her when he started having these feelings. Sorry, no sympathy for cheater Emilio :S!

I feel bad for Emilio. He probably still loves Kimber, but he's also most likely scared to death of her. I can understand him needing some normalcy for himself and the kids.

I want to hate Emilio here, since it's all about team Kimber! But at the same time, where he's coming from makes sense. Awesome body language here - Emilio seems like he has no real idea what to do, but is just doing the best he can for the lads.

Thanks!! One cool thing about webcomics is you don't have to say EVERYTHING!! Let the art (via expressions, postures) communicate for you...! (of course, I still say an awful lot). I wanted to hate Emilio too, but I also sometimes don't like it when people tell me what I don't wanna hear, even when I know they're kinda right!!

Maybe he is a jerk, but he's being a realist too. They've grown too far apart. Even if she does still have tender feelings for him, he realizes they'll never be able to relate to one another on the same level they used to.

While it's possible for two people on very planes (different cultures, positions of power, levels of intelligence...) to make it work, it takes supreme commitment and understanding (and, sadly, often lots of compromise...).. But it can be done!! Can these two? Maybe that's for another story...
