Thanks all! :-) Celtic Minstrel - Dop is a type of wax used for attaching a stone to be polished to a dop stick. (Having the stone mounted on a stick makes it easier to grind on a grinding wheel as a wet stone can be slippery.) Most people use a dop pot to melt the wax, but apparently some people feel the dop pot doesn't heat the wax enough.
