Tireless Persecution

I, personally, am of the belief that the addition of so many sidekicks and extra characters in the Sonic series is what helped lead to the blue blur's demise. The 3D games were so crappy because the developers spent so much time tacking on extra characters instead of fixing things like camera angle issues in the games, hoping that with the new characters and gimmicks, the fans and players would ignore the glaring issues in gameplay.

But that's just me.
