Fun fact: Focus on the characters before you worry about photoshopping your background, or you'll likely screw it up and make the page look terrible.
Next time, I'll use unsharp mask BEFORE I start coloring. For now, sorry to say…yet another page with several errors from my own laziness (though the last one was drawing, rather than photoshop problems.)
Note: This is a comical fantasy story. There are likely to be MANY scientifically impossible aspects to it. For instance…magic. Magic is impossible in the real world, but not in a fantasy world. And the sun not being there, again, is something that would work in a fantasy story. If you are still unsatisfied with these explanations, don't worry…I'll explain everything when my actual story begins to unfold. After all, this is only page 3 (excluding the chapter cover.)
