- A Calvin and Hobbes Comic where they talk about death at night and end up under the bed gave me this idea

- There's just so many bad things out there and it seems rarely does the news ever have just good things to say. Anything is always overshadowed with something terrible.

- The It's A Trap and Fuckin' Metal were references to a show I was doing at the time.

-The third panel is by far my favorite. It's like a negative version of the Scarlacc Pit from Star Wars or one of those worms from Tremors.
