Oooookay, so.. I'm not very happy with this one. I think it's too much conversation for one 4-panel comic, and the punchline is not all that funny. I hope you guys can at least “get” it, follow it. Hell, from my experience, you all may friggin' LOVE this one, lol. But the good news is, this is the beginning of a new storyline… one I've been wanting to do for a while now. And it features the Weird Kid! yay!
Hopefully the rest of this story will go smoothly, but hang on tight anyway!
please vote! My buzzcomix ratings are slipping, you guys usually keep me in the top 10! Thanks in advance ;0)
slimred: much thanks, more new stuff on it's way!
johnkeating: a good point. Another reason I should stop starting off half my comic's notes with "This one sucks, I'm sorry." LOL
It's taking me far too long to get back you guys in the comments. sorry!
Brock: thanks, you have a way of finding the good even in a sub-par page of mine. Opening up the universe of these characters is something I keep trying to do!
madscott: thanks ;0D
toonman: I agree... I think I forced it too much.
maninblack: gracias, buddy
dantheman: yay, more fans of the Weird Kid!
jgib99: wooohoo! let's hope it turns out well, LOL
worstcase: ha, join the club!
interjack: plot twist? where? LOL, I think, understandably, you missed the idea. The kid is just a weird kid, a human... it's just that he told the squirrel manager he was involved with the mission (not that he is really, he just wants to be)... and now the manager is trying to figure out WHO he is from their planet.
It's no fun when you hafta explain it. :0( That tells me something about my writing in this one. *sigh*
Yeah, this is definitely a busy one. Not that I'm one to point fingers. A good effort at world expansion though and I'm curious to see where this is going.
ghostrunner: now there's an idea!
Fitz: hm.. never thought about the squirrel giving him lice.. LOL
PR: glad you got a kick out this one ;0)
crazyduck: you betcha, hang in there!
Gibbo: thanks!
jurbas: *nods* texts takes up wayyy too much space.
harryq: yay!
heymelby: good suggestion. Now, how do I go about drawing this idiot, without giving away what their species looks like? (one of my gimmicks with this comic is never show what the aliens look like, leave it the imagination)
GTLB: he seems to be a popular character!
antcomics: transference of lice electronically.. wow.
reconjsh: well, I'm overly critical by nature... but I should learn to keep my mouth shut sometimes and just see what happens. I wish I had more time and I could re-think and change comics before updating. I get so anal about ALWAYS updating on schedule! Thanks for your advice, PEACE dude!
Midge: it does seem like a good idea... thanks
Good comic.
NOTE: you seem to say things like "I'm not very happy with this one" on like every comic you issue. I know it's partially confidence... but really, you need to be proud of your product or make it better. If you don't like it, why should we?
That being said... I love your comic! You should be proud of it.
Peace and WORD!
I think it may have been more effective if the squirrel was imagining PVT Blorgoob (mimicking the head scratching) and that was what made it think the kid was PVT Blorgoob.
Then we'd have a visual reference that makes Fred's line more funny.
Don't feel down about it, I don't like my execution on this fridays Chad either.

I like it. I don't think, if it's moving the story along, every punchline has to be killer.

Cool new stuff rocks!!

I like the kid, he's a good touch
ToonmanAZ at 3:33PM, Feb. 5, 2008
I didn't mind the wordiness of the strip but the punchline was missing something.

agree with heymelby...maybe you could add a panel referencing this pvt blorgoob

jurbas at 1:58AM, Feb. 5, 2008
Hmm I like it, the panel did seem smaller with so much text though
crazyduck at 11:39PM, Feb. 4, 2008
New storyline? OooOOooh.
Priest_Revan at 11:37PM, Feb. 4, 2008
Lol.
Fitz at 11:23PM, Feb. 4, 2008
Well the squirrel disguise is perfect - complete with lice ;) Are there gonna be new additions to the team? Like, a turtle? Or... a mouse?
ghostrunner at 11:18PM, Feb. 4, 2008
and remeber the dangers of head lice... and charge them rent
