Shard was still getting used to this new weapon. It had an almost instantaneous reload rate but took 7 seconds to charge up a beam that was invisible. an eternity during a battle. A visible line of fire was suicide for a sniper, still it could fire invisibly. But it was worth it in the end. It could fire in a straight line for its entire effective range, eliminating the need to adjust for wind and distance. That and the blamed thing could take down a tank. Something they intended to do many times.

Their first objective was to get some more ammo, of a sort.
The rifles could recharge off of any energy source including the sun. But they did rely on gas charges to sharpen their beams. Those charges only lasted about a thousand rounds.
So they were going to get more.

Shard hated tall grass ambushes but didn't really have a choice. It was hard to arrange well so that they'd be covered and not burn the grass along the lines of fire. But they'd pulled it off. This was one of the only places on the plains outside the city that had low hillocks along the road. The Mephile convoy of supply trucks approached. Then they were in range. The HUD clamped to his visor indicated a full charge. 5 trucks interspersed by 3 tanks and an armored car, with an APC at either end of the column.
Jed now had a computer targeting scope linked to Shard's visor. The spotter's pointer tugged his vision towards the lead APC. Colored dots indicated the targets of his squad. Oh this is wonderful He thought to himself.

He tapped a button on the trigger guard and a countdown appeared.
And thus years of training, discipline and experience is replaced by technology
The timer reached zero. Bright little holes appeared on all the vehicles. Immediately they all either crashed or at least lost control. Their drivers had all died quickly. The tanks and APCs exploded from ruptured fuel tanks. The main hatch on the lead APC popped opened and burning Mephiles spilled out. A quick series of flashes from Hammer's position left them in a single heap that blocked the door. The screams from inside the burning vehicle didn't last long. Though aflame and immobile one of the tanks began to return fire. Hammer and his spotter Pein had to stop firing and bolt away. They made it just in time as the tank fired its cannon, exploding the tiny rise of earth. It was the last time it did so. Anvil had let his weapon overcharge. In a blast of green light first the turret and then the rest of the tank melted.

Quick flicks of light burst tires, put holes in Mephiles and melted metal.
They finished by going through the enemies, putting holes in their heads dead or alive, and taking their belongings. They left the corpses dressed with only their dog tags in lined up across the road.

The snipers drove off with enough gas charges to last them for years.

Lance: Who's that!? *pointing at someone*

Blood: Hmm, no clue. Doesn't look like anyone I know. Sorry, Lance.

????: That's no way to great a friend Lance.
Lance: Who are you… Wolf!!!
Wolf: Hey. Where's Rage?
Lance: Over there. Blood! this my friend, wolf!
Wolf: nice to meet you.

Blood: Er, sure. (to Lance) does he know I used to be Meph's second in command?

Wolf: well I do now.
As wolf said blood looked at him and saw he had wolf ears.
This shooked him a bit.

Wolf: don't be alrmed. I'm a wolf-man. I can change from a human to a wolf and anywhere in between. You know I try to stay out of wars but you look alittle lost.

Blood: Uh, yeah, where's Meph Base Alpha?

Wolf: That tacky place… Why there.. Nevermind. I know this place like the back of my hand, or paw. Hehe..hehe..he. Come on.

Blood and the others followed Wolf to Meph Base Alpha. It was an abandoned base, but the Meph troops had left behind plenty of weapons and equipment, which they carried off. They made it back to the base without any problems.

-My comic, Blaze and Blood (has that name, now.) is going to follow a similar path to this forum game, but it's also going to be different. Much different. Shadow: Wolf! You old dog! Where have you been?
Wolf: Places. How are you and…*see blaze the cat*…Cat people…
Shadow: Wolf!!!
Wolf: Sorry Shadow. I can't help it. You know what they did.
Lance: What? What did they do?
Shadow and Wolf: Non of your business.
Lance: yikes! Sorry I asked.

Blood: What did they do? Blaze would never do anything to hurt anyone other than Meph Troops. So I think she deserves an explanation of what she's being accused of!

Wolf: Fine. The cat people told this guy that killed my race off where to find us. It's a grudge thing. Ones I get to know her, I'll be fine.
Rage: That was a long time ago, wolf. Let it go… Right Zoro?
Zoro is asleep standing up.

Blaze: I'm sorry. I'm the last of my kind as well. When I found the others, Mephiles somehow tracked down their hidden Bastion and killed all of them. I felt it was my fault for so long. I still think it's my fault.

Blaze burst into tears. Blood walked over and consoled her.

Blood: There, there, it couldn't have been your fault. Don't balme yourself. Blame Meph. That bastard hurts everyone who is close to us! He's even killed off Silver. I will never forgive him for that. But we mustn't let rage get the better of us. No, I'm not talking about you, Rage. If we allow our anger to get the better of us, we won't fight as well, and we'll make mistakes. Just, just let it go, my love!

-note: The main reason I switched over to a new account is because Blood is more a part of me than Riku ever was. Blood is caring, kind, friendly, and cool. I'm not. Rage: I blame my parents for that.
Shadow: I don't.
Wolf: So you are the last too… I'm sorry. It's just I lived to see them die. I also killed the man that killed them. Please accept my apology.
Lance: This is getting waay to melodramatic.
Rage and Shadow: Shut Up, Lance!

Blood pulls out a sword and points it at Lance.

Blood: Say it again, see what happens! Have you no feelings? the last survivors of two lost races meet, and you have to say something like that? You're lucky I'm a forgiving person!

Blaze: (Shocked) Blood, what are you doing?

Blood: Shut up Blaze, he needs to be taught respect!

Rage: I would not do that blood.
Lance: You think that?
Lance's eye turn pure white.
Lance: How do you think I feel? I don't even have a race!
Rage: Lance! Calm down!
Lance looks at rage and a bolt of lighting shoots from him.
Shadow: Damn! Not another episode! He can't control himself! Everyone! Get out of the area!

Blood: Trying to challenge me is a big mistake!

Blade: And you're going to regret it!

Blade materialized both energy swords again. A desperate battle insued. Blade attacking Lance, and vice versa. Then Blaze came in and slapped both of them across their faces. They stopped fighting, and Blaze yelled at both of them.

Blaze: Stop it! Fight Mephiles, not yourselves! God, why do all the men in my life have to fight each other all the mother fucking time? It really pisses me off!

Blood: (to Lance) S-she's scary when she's angry!

Lance says nothing as lighting seep out of his body. Rage then grabs Lance from behind. Rage gets shocked and then lets lance go. He then drop to the ground.
Lance: where am I?
Rage: He was not … challenging you. He .. just got emotional…*falls to the ground* GOD! That hurts. *passes out*

Blood: Huh. Lance, you're a major loose cannon. Learn to control your anger or I will never take you on another mission. I'm sorry, but if you turn on us again, Blaze and Rage may not be there to help calm you down, and one of the two of us will get badly hurt. Most likely, you. You probably have not fought as many battles or taken as many lives as Blade, and he may kill you.

Blaze: Blood… go easy on him. He didn't mean it!

Blood: No, Blaze, he needs to learn to control himself! If he can learn to master that power he just showed, he could be virtually unstoppable! Listen up, all of you! You just saw what anger could do to you on a battlefield! Lance could have beaten me if he wasn't consumed by anger, but he was, and as such, could not beat me! Never let anger cloud your judgement, never let fury be a part of what we must do! Never allow yourself to be consumed by anger, and you can win any one-on-one battle with someone who is enraged! We must control our anger, and redirect it into something else!

Lance: Huh? wha? I'm so sleeply. G'night. *falls asleep*
Shadow: Ah oh… He's not going to wake up anytime soon…
Wolf: That 5% thing?
Shadow: Yea.

Blaze: Huh? What 5% thing?

Blood: I couldn't care less. I'm going to bed.

Blood leaves the room before anyone can say anything to him.

Shadow: Lance's body is made out of Lighting. If he uses the last 5% of it, He has to sleep to restore it.
Wolf: And that can take up to 5 years, at the most.

Blaze: How long, at the least?

Shadow and Wolf look at each other.
Shadow and Wolf: 2 weeks.

Blaze: Is there any way he'll ever be able to master the power he just demonstrated? Blood is right about one thing: If he ever learned to control that power, he could be unstoppable. Er, how long is Rage gonna be out?

Shadow: I don't know. healing from mortal wounds is one thing, but…
Wolf: Just get these two to a bed.
Zoro: (yarns) What's going on?

-hehe… Zoro just woke up-

Blaze: Er, the calm, cool and collected Blood just lost his temper.

Zoro: oh… Hey. what is rage doing on the ground? and lance too?
Wolf: Blaze told you a long story short thing. Don't worry about it.

Blood: (walking in the hall to his and Blaze's room) Dammit! I shouldn't have lost my temper like that! It's not like me! I knew I needed to calm Lance down, but I shouldn't have let Blade out! Ugh, I need to hibernate. I wonder how long I'll be asleep. Ugh… (Blood drops to the ground, right there in the hallway, and starts to snore)
