I assume that your bed is resting on some sort of wood platform? You can knock one together out of scrap 2 by 4 fours and a cheap sheet of particle board in just a few minutes, but a military stile cot is lighter and can be folded up out of the way in no time at all. Most trucks can even hold two of them, and with a foam pad laid on top you really don't feel the join in the middle (tie the cots together at head, middle and foot for extra security). Leo
