I found if you take some corrugated plastic. (The stuff they make political ad signs out of. Or thoes "we buy ugly houses" signs.) Trim it down to match the size and shape of your shoe's insole. Then insert it between the waffle grid and your worn out pad. It will protect your feet from the waffle without adding a lot of weight. I got an extra year out of a pair of shoes that way once.
If the original pads wear out in your boots, you might be able to replace them with with thermal insoles. Just make sure you get the right size. The cheap felt/foil ones work just as well as the pricey ones, and in addition to keeping your feet warm, they beat walking on rubber waffles. Take care :3
Hope the work is lesser straining to your feet once you can find better shoes. not easy i know. some shoes are horrible to walk in. even the expensive ones that should be good to the feet.. but just making the feet even more sore than before. so it is a hit and miss search.
hope it will go well in your work.
11 and a half hours of work?
Well, you get lunch, so that's still 11 hours, right? That's gotta be worth some money. I hope.
Good luck. Even if you only get to post weekly, we still look forward to what you can do.

If there's a Payless Shoe Source within easy travel distance, you might be able to get some bargains there, since they filed for bankruptcy. If you're spending most of your day on your feet and walking, good shoes are worth splurging on (you can get a very good pair for $50 most places, maybe $30 if you have some luck at the clearance racks). Make sure to get one with lots of padding in the heel and sole. I've had very good experience with Dockers, Skechers, and Nunn Bush shoes, but I'm not sure if they make shoes for women. Could you let me know your shoe size?
Glad to hear that you're getting a lot of work hours, even though it's cutting down on your free time. I hope the work conditions aren't too bad, aside from the concrete.

I am glad that you are getting more work. Music definitely helps lift my mood too when I am down. I keep hoping you get a good full time job.
