But he's not bluffing about the blood, at this point sky iron may very well only have a small actual effect, the mind thinking it should do more does the rest, even if it doesn't a confident enemy is far more dangerous than an uncertain one even with better equipment and physical ability, confidence and controlled fear (using one's own fear to be more effective) are two of the few tools of war that have never changed much or become obsolete. All other tools have evolved significantly, such as the axe and the knife, while they have never truely left the face of war, have become little more than "if all else fails" tools.

I think he's bluffing about the knife, maybe, such a knife would be useful as a neutralizing agent...
