SS5 119 Pillow Talk

This was a nice opportunity to tie up a few loose ends about the relationship between Nikki and Lucy.
Thankyou again to all of you who voted for us in the awards this year! We won four nice ones but the two that I really enjoyed most were Best Supporting Character for Nikki (for the second time)which means a lot as she was to one character I never expected to grow or be so popular. The second was Best Backgrounds because as always the colorist IS such an essential part of helping create the atmosphere and bring my flat black and white lines to life. The judges final decision rested a lot on the use of floodfill pattern and I think this page really highlights how Becky uses those skills of hers so well. :)
Next week: Sarah awakes in the middle of the night to an empty bed and goes to investigate! Just in time for Halloween! ;)

Fallopian: I never noticed who did that amazing piece of art for the award until this morning. It took me aback when I first saw it as it did look so much like my style at first and my second thought was I have to save it, which I have. :)

DV: Search that locked room,that's an excellent idea! If only she could find the key ;) You're right about the awards too. There are thousands of comics on here now and even more readers so just knowing your own audience feels you deserve an award does mean a great deal!

Tess: I do feel a bit guilty for that! I had intended to just have Sarah's smiling face fill the last panel but then I thought maybe Lucy's expression might be a nice twist and well, you know me! lol

Kim: Thankyou, it's been a pretty good year for both our comics hasn't it! :) As for Sarah, she's not about to be crushed anytime soon. It's quite frustrating for me as the next few pages are all inked and the urge to share is strong but of course they have to be coloured and I MUST have my reserves as I can never be sure how much free time I have each week.

I'm a little taken aback this morning. I always like to look in on the comments when I have time to respond immediately but it's been so busy this week that my minds been elsewhere most of the time. I did look in on the awards a few days ago up to Kim and Jake winning their well deserved biggies and I thought that was it for this year but coming in this morning I now realise we had two more waiting for us and one being the Readers Choice which was stunning! Thankyou all so much, it's quite humbling for a quiet person like me. :)

Most people who win awards and stuff tend to appreciate the People's Choice awards far more than industry awards (which most seem to be political rather than truly deserving)

First, congrats on all your wins. You and I were head-to-head on a few, and your story bested mine on several... And truthfully if you'd won every one I wouldn't have batted an eye!! Everything about this story (art, background, main character, supporting cast, intrigue and interest...) is just topnotch!! So... another big congratulations!! Okay this page... what a touching scene! And yet it ends with a little foreboding... Lucy's eyes in last panel. I'm happy for Sarah, but also terribly worried... Not necessarily for her physically (although with the little stuff you thrown out I have thought, 'hmmmm...) but really I don't want to see Sarah get crushed, but then, I also know she'll survive somehow... but... See how my mind gyrates when thinking about her - that's the effect a great story has on people!! So once again - wonderful stuff and thank you for creating it for us!!
