SS6 32 Day trip to Warwick 1

The story so far: Lucy's previous girlfriend died from a Grand Mal seizure some years ago and because of the way it happened Lucy repressed the memory until just recently, when an event caused her to recall everything that happened on that fateful night.

There's no real reason why I put my characters at Warwick castle other than I fancied a change of scenery and happened to have a nice bunch of photos on my compy which I took some years back.

Next Week: Sarah realises that her actions have stirred up more trouble than she imagined!

Dear Sky, Really nice castle and plenty of tourists also:) Lucy is not unhealthy but I do think she is rationalizing in an effort to make Laura "come to life" in the form of a ghost. When Sarah asks "What? Does?" Laura's response can be unhealthy if it becomes an obsessive. Does Sarah want to be with someone who spends so much time thinking about a dead person? tommym

Very good point, but, if Sarah ever wants to have a future with Lucy, she is going to have to help her lay her past to rest, figuratively and possibly literally, no healthy expectation for Lucy to completely forget Laura or ignore all that she meant to her (still in the camp that, one day, Sarah and Janey will be back together, but hopefully not until many happy years with Lucy first)

Tommym: Two good points there. Firstly, Lucy explains her reasoning on the next page which will make Sarah cringe! lol And secondly yes Sarah does start to have doubts as to whether she will ever be free from Laura's memory. :)

Two young women being openly affectionate in a tasteful way in public, attracting no negative attention (except maybe the little cameraman in panel 3, who seems perhaps more interested in our girls than in his wife!) - a lovely, hopeful scene.

Fred: haha, well spotted! I originally drew him quite small but as it amused me I decided to bring him a wee bit nearer. Although this was fairly obvious I couldn't imagine a lot of people would take much notice in this day and age. :)

People have been wondering the same thing about what happens to the 'individuality' of the person after they die for centuries, they tend to be called 'philosophers' rather than 'crackpots' though :( ... Is that an error in Sarah's last speech? "What?! Does"

Putting the work in, doing Warwick Castle - rather than being a slacko like me and just using photo backgrounds for my French chateaux B-) A mate in Wales has balustrading to his pool area. like the top of that bridge - picked it up free from a redevelopment site. I hope the "contact" doesn't end Lucy gaga !

Luckily I enjoy doing scenery. It not only makes a break from drawing people all the time but I find it more relaxing too as it doesn't feel so important if I get things slightly wrong and I can play with it more.

Beautiful page all around!! That Bridge...!! Well, Lucy's thinking doesn't seem that healthy, but... if (and that's a big IF) there's such things as ghosts, then something like this is the likeliest explanation... Still, I'm not sure it's good to contact them... Remember them sure, but let them go... The more you hold on, the less you can move on in the 'living world'! But, I get it - letting go can be so hard... Wonderful stuff!

Kim: Same as I feel. I knew a woman who had lost her mother and was paying a fair amount to a psychic for what she believed was some sort of contact. On one hand I could see that maybe it helped ease the pain but on the other it seemed cruel. I'm always on the fence myself so that's how I like to try and write it, but with a leaning towards the idea that they do exist. :)

IB: Haha Lucy's dialogue was supposed to sound like a bit of a ramble but I wasn't quite sure how well that came across. Hopefully she makes more more sense next week when she explains her reasoning. :)

No, don't believe Lucy has 'lost it', she has been thinking things through, she may be stretching things a bit, but we will have to wait and see what she says next
