Doc Zola is a character in the comic“Johnny Space Commander and Dick Droid!”. He is also a pseudonym for Sean Parnellthe author and illustrator of “Johnny Space Commander and Dick Droid!”.
Sean Parnell has been an illustrator and fine artist for more than 20 years. Over those two decades he has had a dream to become a newspaper cartoonist. Well, that never really panned out. The ideas have been invading his brain for years however, and at the age of 40, they have found their way out again.

“Johnny Space Commander and Dick Droid!” is his first foray into comic books. Not a “Graphic Novel” or “illustrated literature”, Johnny is an out and out comic book. Big, colorful and completely ridiculous! Each issue has a complete Johnny Space Commander story as well as a two to four page back-up story, or “short”. These are ideas that may or may not be expanded in the future, but really just take me back to my love of comic strips.
