Kids today watch that Arthur show and he's supposed to be an aardvark but I've never seen him eat an ant. And he's supposed to have that long nose but for tv they kind of made him a bit more "cute" or "marketable" like a bear or mouse or something. Now it's reached that sort of ten year threshold where it'll never go off the air, like Barney is still in production in 2008 which is kind of ridiculous.
