@harkovast: Yes, you would, Hark. Next year we'll promote this award above and beyond what we did this year so everyone gets to strut their stuff. I bet next year's voter turnout will be enormous.
@Houseofmuses, I think when everyone was voting in the category, people probably forgot the undertones of your comic.
Yes judging was difficult, some of the comics I hadn't even heard of.
@Harkovast: Unfortunately, because virtually all of the promotion for this comic ended up coming from the judges and their comics, their comics were disproportionately represented among the nominees. That was one of the pitfalls of not getting very much publicity. But that said, we did do our best to judge everything objectively (but obviously, sometimes that was a real challenge!)

judges were allowed to be nominated and win but they could not vote on any catagory they were nominated in. it was all fair and above board. this award show is like the people's choice awards and those are the people the people wanted to nominate. i told every body that at the end of the day if you wanted someone to win you had to vote, i told everyone that they could call into the villainland podcast show and offer any ideas they had for catagories, and i've told every one don't complain if you don't like the way things are because everyone had every chance to have thier say early on in this process. if you did not choose to take part you can't blame us for your own inaction. i am not yelling, just trying to inform you all of how it went down at the begining of this crazy show. but if you don't want to take my word for it go back and listen to the villainland podcast and reread the pages of the villain next door it's all there.the real problem is that no one thought this was gonna be for real. it's a gag, a stunt,it's a kill the top ten thing.some probably thought that since this was not the official dd awards why bother.at the end of the day we have done what no one thought was possible, we have done an award show with voting in under two months. ALL HAIL THE VILLAIN!!!
i'm not sure how house of muses did not get a nom for the it's gay award. far be it for me to guess how or why the readers do what they do. i just hope they keep doing it here.
some one might want to let these kids know they have been nominated and that they might want to show up and do a quick shout out to the fans that nominated them.DON'T DO IT ON THE COMMENT SECTION OF THIER PAGE! That might get you and us in trouble, send em a pq.
