Your punchline was pretty humourous, here, whether it was meant to be so, or not.
Made me laugh out loud, in fact.
Thanks for that.
It's always nice to get surprise laughs out of somebody elses honest thoughts, without that being due to the thoughts seeming stupid.
I suppose my basic outlook on the world is about as dark as yours, except perhaps for putting mental energy into producing such quality vinegar, which I don't.
You know, I used to think myself somewhat unfortunate for not being gullible enough to believe in God, supposing that having such faith would have lent me a sense of deeper purpose and meaning to it all. (Illussory, no doubt, but never the less. And if it works, who cares...) After reading the punchline here, I'm not so sure, though. I don't know if you are really among them, but I do pity people waiting around for the wicked to be punished for their sins. If stupidity has obvious consequense, we should be consider ourselves blessed, imo.
Great work so far, btw.
Or maybe death is actually a good thing. Maybe dogs - nice, good dogs - are prepared for death after only fifteen years, and evil men aren't prepared at all, therefore they live long and they should be preparing for death all this long while. They most probably don't do this, but they had the chance. After this if they still aren't prepared and therefore go to a very bad and unpleasant place with a climate a little too hot after they die, it was only their own fault, because they had a chance... At lest I like to think of it that way...
then again, the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele lived for 35 years in happy obscurity after WWII, hiding out in Argentina and Brazil, and never being brought to justice or suffering from terminal ego-collapse.
Pinochet's ego was murdered long before he passed away, and that's worse than death to people like him. To wit : Heinrich Himmler managed to hide out as an anonymous corporal when Nazi Germany capitulated, but the feeling of being a nobody like the rest of us quickly made him walk up to an allied military post and announce "I am Heinrich Himmler!"

I think evil may be a natural preservative. It's hard to cheer when you know the damage has already been done and done again.

Flamen raises a valid point. Why not view things that way, yah?

You listening, God? She raises a very good point. I can't help it. I've got to give you another five. This stuff is so on target.

Yes, there is something fundamentally wrong with the universe when it coms to the life spans of dogs.

They truly do don't they. You know, you live longer when everyone wants you to die.
