That last panel, is, in fact a picture of the girl, not Vardengard, kk? It may not be that apparent, but it is true. Vardengard has cat-like eyes, wearing completely different clothes and does not have a mole/beauty mark on the left side of his face. Is that enough distinction? I should hope so.
