I'm going to go out there and say this...
I'm not comparing the two, or saying they are related to one another, but I enjoy Ahab in much the same way I enjoyed Jim Woodring's Frank.
Which... is... a lot.
this sequence is so graphically beautiful and so bizarre. I love this comic so much. well done again in making something unimaginable, tangible.
also, love the My Three Sons reference.
LOL!
that show would have much better with that story line.
But I did write something called "odore mio machismo". Like "AHAB", It chronicles the continuing adventures of a classic American character. This time we follow the middle boy, Chip Douglas from "My Three Sons" on a journey that will take him 8,000 miles from his modest, suburban home. On a trip to San Francisco with Uncle Charley, Chip finds himself Shanghaied and spirited away to the far east by Indo-Chinese pirates. At first, Chip defies his captors at every turn and is rewarded with the lash. But the kindness of a Laotian crewman named Boun Oum softens Chip, and eventually he warms to the men who hold him prisoner. He begins to sympathize with his abductors and becomes a trusted member of the crew, even joining them on raids in restricted waters. Like Patty Hearst, Chip falls victim to the Stockholm Syndrome. He kills more men than can easily be counted. Innocent men. He takes and takes until he feels nothing. Years pass and chip has hardened to life at sea and shrugs at the ideas of rape, murder and torture. His only comfort is the embrace of Boun Oum who he has forged a bond that would defy the conservative standards of Fred McMurray. It would also eclipse the passion of a traditional relationship a thousandfold. With Boun Oum at his side he feels that nothing can stop them. They make wild plans and dream of a better future that either of them believe could happen. But Chip holds a glimmer of hope for this possibility. Until tragedy strikes. Boun Oum is shot and killed by officials in Burma on a raid that would go horribly wrong. The crew is decimated and Chip himself is injured and taken prisoner by the men who have killed Boun Oum. Chip swears revenge and even spits in the face of the surgeon who amputates his legs.Thinking Chip is a crazed captive of the pirates, the Burmese government manages to track down Chips family and send him home to Los Angeles. The family hardly recognizes him and are deeply troubled when all he can speak of is someone named Boun Oum. After only Four days in the states, The Douglas family finds Chip hanging form a shower rod with a homemade noose. My Three Sons" aired from 1960 to 1972 on ABC and CBS. Maybe this is what you were thinking about when you said "Stupidman"?

I'm assuming you asked my dad for some info about me. You should have asked Brent, he would've remembered the right name of the play.
