The Calm Before the Storm: Armed and Disasterous.
Steely Gaze on Sept. 16, 2007
Wow, I finished this one early? Even with all the coloring I needed to do and the insane amount of work I put into doing my own word bubbles? That's a good sign!
Now I can't claim credit for all of this; Chameleon Kid did most of the first panel and all the intricate shading you see there. Me? I cannot shade to save my life. But I'm learning, and soon, oh yes, soon, I hope to be doing a lot more impressive work.
At least I'm almost done introducing the main characters. Only one more to go!
Oh before I forget, I had a quick question. I'm deciding whether or not to stop answering each person who comments. I enjoy doing it, but it does take up some of my precious time. What I want to know is if anybody reads my responses. Please answer in the comments below if you read my follow-ups or not, from this I will make my decision.

I used to try to answer all comments too. It's just so time consuming. Don't worry about it; most comic artists don't even bother! :)

Well I guess that answers my question. I do like to respond to anyone brave enough to comment, and since some of you bother to read them I say why not? Of course this time I have nothing important to contribute, but what the heck! Kid, it would be swell if you could pick an accent and stay with it, okay?

You don't have to respond. I do read them though :) The shading really does add some dimension though for Chameleon Kid's future reference the colours should be a little more contrasting, methinks~

Heck, 'course I read your bloody responses! But you don't have to make 'em! ;) You don't HAVE to answer everyone--just ones that 1:Make a good point, 2:Are actually asking you a question, or 3: I forgot 3. And please, you give me too much credit :) Though the first panel DID come out rather well--great job with the dialogue square! I like how you can still see the colours behind. (Something I might have to try someday.)
