@felonimayhem: I would like them to try method like that on someone with serious set of powers. Like Alucard the Vampire (no, sun, cross and blessed water won't work on this one) or Jean Phoenix Grey (her powers occasionally go out of control with serious area damage). ... which might be answer to this one. When Lan manages to get together, he shouldn't have any issue convincing them his powers are real.

The recent movie "Glass" was about superheroes and supervillains who got convinced by institutional authority figures that they were delusional and mentally ill instead of super-powered. Eager to see how Lan works his way out of this mental predicament.
