I get the impression that Thermal is Hella powerful, he just has not fully grown into his abilities yet. From what I have seen he has an epic shape shifting ability, he can take on forms much larger than his base form and hold them for long periods, he can manage sensory input from multiple sources and coordinate the information, and it appears he can even split his consciousness into the multiple heads of his Chimera form. Add in his control of hellfire, being a Reaper, and wielding by accounts a very powerful scythe and he becomes a force to be concerned about. It is a good thing he is a nice kid. I also think if anyone ever attacked him almost every dark god in the pantheon would rise up to tear the offender a new one.

Thermal is very powerful. it doesn't really occur to him that his powers are remarkable..and yes as a kid he hasn't fully mastered his abilities ...his strongest power might just be that he is liked by most of the underworld :)

Chimeras don't seem to be aerodynamic, even when though have wings. Probably much easier to go soaring while small.

Aerodynamic or not, it's DEFINITELY easier to go soaring when you are lighter.

Well since Pooka prefer building underground, and the fact that Thermal was born in the Underworld; I can understand why he'd feel comfortable in such places.
