Day 70
Allan on May 11, 2007
I was totally, utterly, and completely satisfied with Spiderman 3. In fact I was more than satisfied. I was entertained. Yes!
I heard so many poor reviews, and I still can't understand why it got them. I mean, sure it's not EXACT TO THE COMIC BOOK AND SOME STUFF HAS BEEN CHANGED, but I mean come on you guys. It's a movie. Take it leave it.
The graphics rocked. I read one person hated them. What the hell? Do you not like good graphics? Were you expecting something like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? Because if you were, shut up. This isn't that movie. They're not taking 2 years to render this bad boy. Sorry if you're not satisfied with awesome action scenes.
I liked (maybe even loved) everything about it. Thank you. Thank you very much Spiderman. Thank you for being there for good movies for me. I've enjoyed you very much.
Best scene, though?
Make sure to check out Mediocre Militia tonight. There's a good chance I might do a Spiderman thing, there.
Also, for all who are wondering: yes. I am over 9,000.
EDIT: I strongly suggest going to http://mediocremilitia.blogspot.com/ now. I have a few things there you guys might like.

I liked it. All the action sequences were great, especially the fight in Harry's mansion. (Man, was Parker a prick! And the scene where the Sandman is learning how to pull himself together? Awesome.
Collossus at 8:40AM, May 12, 2007
HEck yeah I saw that movie at the premiere two more times in theaters and on bootleg...twice
Zheror at 8:40AM, May 12, 2007
I saw it yesterday too!
No_Parking at 8:30AM, May 12, 2007
Yeah, but did you like it.
Wilson at 8:26AM, May 12, 2007
Yes but dispite the dissapointed fans, there are already rumors of them already signing a contract for three more movies.
Thirdperiodlunch at 8:12AM, May 12, 2007
OH MAN. IT WAS GOOD, THEN? People have been trying to talk me out of seeing it. :( Even though they know I'm a gianormous Spiderman geek-o and it's not going to make a difference. And I heard about that dance scene. :D Hot. I'm so seeing it tonight with friends! Yay!
Avalon comics at 7:34AM, May 12, 2007
Dude, I TOTALLY disagree with you, that was the WORST SCENE IN THE WHOLE FILM! If it wasn't for thos scenes, it would have been a good film!
tweebus at 7:32AM, May 12, 2007
I thought it was great! Over all a fantastic trilogy!
Brogan at 7:12AM, May 12, 2007
Heh.
sparklingvomit at 6:20AM, May 12, 2007
I half-liked it, half-hated it. That gyrating scene was hilarious. To think we almost saw it on imax! However, they tried to cram too much plot into one movie and the result was a bit lackluster. I think two villains was pushing it, and what the crap, Venom is already dead? Duuuuumb. He was, as Nick stated in a comment down thar, "tacked on" very obviously. Where was the awesome villain development in this movie? I dunno. I liked the other ones a lot more.
Hijuda at 4:33AM, May 12, 2007
GRAAAAAGH! That scene burns my eyes! I hate you, emo Peter!
Nick at 4:14AM, May 12, 2007
Tim the Enchanter, I'd also like to note that yes, that may be, but I totally dug that movie and it is the most personal the Speilberg has done, and it shows. For once, he didn't make a film that had some semblance of a happy ending...
Nick at 4:12AM, May 12, 2007
As a popcorn film it is entertaining. Thing is, after Spidey 1 and 2, I was expecting something even grander. I was wanting 3 to outdo Spidey 2 and X2 as the greatest comic book movie ever. And instead, we get plot points half-assed, great action sequences, good graphics, but no real heart behind them. And this is coming from the guy who actually didn't mind the dance number you note above, nor the fact that it was most about Peter and MJ's relationship, aka a chick flick. (I debate this with those who say it) and I loved Harry's costume. I just feel that after 2 movies of faithfully even with some major changes, bringing out good villains, they totally half-assed it. Specially with Venom, who looked amazingly cool, but was totally tacked onto the film. And after 1 and 2 being faitfhul to the characters, fuck the changes, yeah, it was a huge letdown in that sense... and what was sad is Tropher was awesome in the movie. Anyway, bah, nuff said.
HapyCow at 3:58AM, May 12, 2007
Oh bless you for posting that! BLESS YOU. yeah I liked the movie quite a bit meself. And I am a tough critic. :D It was very amusing.
Tim the Enchanter at 1:14AM, May 12, 2007
I haven't seen it yet but while we're still on movies, there is thim movie with the most UNsatisfying end EVA. It's called "the Terminal" and when it ended I literally couldn't believe Tom anks let Catherine Zeta Jones walk away like that! It's against NATURE!! CZJ isn't walk away material, it should've been kissykissy hughug happyhappy! the whole plot was steering for it!
spambot at 1:01AM, May 12, 2007
I was really tired when I saw it. Afterward I remember asking my wife if there was, in fact, a scene where Peter Parker was thrusting for several minutes, or if it was all just some crazy dream. I guess the animated gif shows us the truth.
Peipei at 12:42AM, May 12, 2007
hehe
Miruku at 12:00AM, May 12, 2007
Oh man. Emo Spidey hair=most hilarious thing EVER. That and the whole thumbs up and pointing thing. So ridiculously entertaining, never mind the awesome creepiness of venom.
crazyduck at 11:45PM, May 11, 2007
Good, you've seen it. I have to be honest, I was let down by Spider-Man 3 (probably because I was so ridiculously pshyced about seeing it), but I still thourougly enjoyed it. It wasn't bad, and not nearly as bad as some people told me it was. I had to put up with one of the most annoying audiences I've ever had the pleasure to sit with though (most of them completely tuned out once Bad Peter with the Emo hair came on), so maybe I'll like it more when I can watch it in my living room without them surrounding me.
Zac at 11:42PM, May 11, 2007
FUCK SPIDERMAN 3
fern at 11:32PM, May 11, 2007
YOU KNOW SOMETHING ALLAN!!! I AGREE!!! IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE!!! AND SO WAS CATS AND DOGS!!!
_Sploich_ at 11:00PM, May 11, 2007
It's good to know I'm not the only person that liked that movie. I don't think people realize that Sam Raimi makes his movies campy on purpose. When it's done as a style rather than a budget issue, I like that.
sofrigginrobo at 10:57PM, May 11, 2007
good stuff
sovietturkey at 10:47PM, May 11, 2007
You look like you're ready for a fight. You ruffian, you.
